About CAATS

Company History

Complete Assessment and Training Solutions Ltd (CAATS) was formed as Cheshire Assessment and Training Solutions Ltd in 2006 to deliver security and facilities management training and qualifications. The company has grown to become one of the leading training providers in the security and facilities management sector, with a reputation for high quality training and excellent customer service. Over the last three years we have built our team to be able to deliver to our clients in all parts of the UK and this national coverage has been reflected in the change of company name.

Funding and Train to Gain

Train to GainCAATS works in partnership with a number of organisations to ensure our clients and learners have access to government funding to support learning and development. Through our partnerships with key colleges of further education we have access to Train to Gain funding. This helps us deliver our NVQ qualifications for no or little cost to our client organisations.

We are in regular communication with government and sector bodies to identify new sources of funding to help our clients. If you would like more information on how funding can help you develop your employees, please contact us.

Our Locations

CAATS has four offices providing a service delivery and an administrative coverage for the whole UK.

Our office locations are:

  • Lymm, Cheshire - Head Office, covering Midlands, North West and Wales
  • Corbridge, Northumberland – covering North East, Northern Ireland and Scotland
  • Haywards Heath, West Sussex – covering London, South East
  • Plymouth, Devon – covering South West

Meet the CAATS Team

Executive Board

Our Executive Board consists of four former senior police officers, each with significant experience in security, business and delivering training and qualifications. The executive board founded CAATS with the aim of delivering high quality products and services. They have invested in an experienced team and the right resources to achieve this aim. The Executive Board sets the strategy for CAATS and ensures the resources are available to deliver.   • David Booth - Managing Director

    Brief career history
    David Booth

    Dave is a former engineer turned Police Officer with 30 years service experience with the Cheshire Constabulary. He worked his way up the chain of command to the rank of Divisional Commander. He is an experienced Senior Investigating Officer, Match / Event Commander and Public Order and Major Incident Silver Commander. Dave also has a vast experience in joint agency working and has chaired Child Protection, Public Protection and Crime Reduction Community Partnership management committees.

  • Geoffrey Churchman - Director

    Areas of expertise - Executive Management

    Brief career history
    Geoffrey Churchman

    Geoff is a former Senior Chief Superintendent in the Cheshire Constabulary. His career spans 30 years, with extensive experience in the anti-terrorist squad, criminal investigation department, and uniform operations, as a Divisional Commander. Geoff was also Head of Personnel and Training for the Constabulary.

    MSc in Forensic Behavioural Science from the Faculty of Medicine at Liverpool University.

  • Mike Naughton - Director

    Areas of expertise - Senior Management

    Brief career history
    Mike Naughton

    A former Police Inspector who specialised in the policing of sporting Events. Match Commander qualified, He had responsibility for Town Centre CCTV surveillance and the implementation of the Security Industry Act and its impact on the licensing of Door Supervisors.

    Former Police Officer with 30 years’ service. A career Detective with regional and national experience as a Senior Investigating Officer.

Management Board

The Management Board are responsible for the day to day running of CAATS. It consists of experts with backgrounds in security, quality, business, education and training. The Management Board is tasked with delivering products and services to meet clients’ and learners’ needs and with maintaining high quality standards.   • Frank Rose - Operations Director

    Areas of expertise - Operations and Process Management

    Brief career history
    Frank Rose

    Ex senior military manager. On leaving Her Majesty’s Forces, joined Police as a Crime Intelligence Officer progressing through to Operational Contingency Planning. During his time with the Police he was seconded as Force Information Protection Officer. Frank joined the company from a Cabinet Office trained Local Authority Emergency Planning/Business Continuity background having worked for the City of Liverpool.

  • John Murdoch - Business Centre Director

    Brief career history
    John Murdoch

    A Microbiologist/Biochemist turned Marketeer and Business Manager with Senior Management experience in ICI, Duperial Argentina, Zeneca/AstraZeneca China and The David Lewis National Epilepsy Centre. John was a founder and the first Chairman of the Western Management Institute of Beijing, established in 1999 as a joint venture between the Chinese government (State Economic and Trade Commission) and the British Chamber of Commerce in China.

  • Vaughan Leyshon - Partnerships and Quality Director

    Brief career history
    Vaughan Leyshon

    Vaughan has worked in the learning and development sector since the early 1990’s designing and delivering a wide range of management, communication and train the trainer programmes both in the UK and overseas. He has specialised in running NVQ programmes and managing quality assurance related to NVQs. He has worked for an awarding body as a Centre Adviser and External Verifier. Working at the Learning and Skills Council for over six years Vaughan gained a detailed working knowledge of FE planning and funding. Before joining CAATS he worked as Commercial Director in two Further Education colleges.
